AutoCAD Student Version

A student version of AutoCAD is licensed at large discounts over the full commercial retail version to qualifying students and teachers. The educational version is available with eirther a 14 month or an ongoing license available.

The educational version of AutoCAD includes the the full feature set of the full commercial version other than all DWG files created or edited in the student version have an internal "educational flag" set which causes all printouts of the DWG file to include a banner on all four sides indicating that the drawing cannot be used commercially, even if the DWG file is printed from a full version copy of AutoCAD.

Objects created in the Student Version are not licenced for commercial use. It is important to note that the student version of AutoCAD is capable of irreversibly marking a commercial DWG file as educational if it is imported.

Autodesk provides registered students with access to various Autodesk applications. AutoCAD is not available as standalone downloadable application however registered students may gain access to some other downloadable applications which include AutoCAD. Civil3D and AutoCAD Architecture are examples.
